Things are broken.

Sorry.  LoU has changed its login mechanism, maybe requiring some kind of captcha in certain circumstances.

Also, LoU has an official client Android client now.

I don't know what the status of updates will be.

Version 0.95.3: the one with bug fixes and the city list

It's on the "free" branch and was approved today. I didn't bump up to 0.96 because there was no major feature update here. It does have a list of cities, but that's all that it is: a way to see your list of cities, with your short reference name for them (if any), and categorized as a water/land and palace/castle/town (where "town" is a non-castled city).

BUGS:
1. Switching both worlds and accounts simultaneously is not handled gracefully.
2. The list of worlds doesn't repopulate until you close and re-open the app.
3. Timing of incoming attacks may be quite wrong, especially on non-English worlds.
Please report more!

FEATURES AND HOW TO USE:
Changes from version 0.95 are in bold.
  • You choose your username, password, and world on a login screen. You launch the login screen by hitting the email address, or the "x" next to it, in the upper-right. If it's still the default that region will be red to help draw your eye.
  • (You will log into your last world automatically. If you didn't want that world, log out and then choose the right one.)
  • After you log in, you can see your most recent mail by pressing the Mail: button. It will show up as a list of timestamps and subjects. Reading the mail won't mark it as read in your account.
  • You can see recent reports by pressing the Reports: button. It will show up as a list of timestamps and summaries.  The reports will automatically be marked as read as soon as the app downloads them. I don't think there is a way around this.
  • On the main screen you have 1 window for chat, and 1 right beneath it for incoming attacks. Both should be scrollable.
  • You can press "Cities:" to see a list of cities.  If it's a water city, there will be a blue "~". If it's a land-locked city, you will see a white "╚" symbol.  The next character will be "P" "C" or "t", for a palace, castle, or town (non-castled city) respectively.
  • Type stuff into the chat window and press "Send!" to talk. You will talk automatically and only with your alliance.
  • Press "Stop" to make sure you disconnect.  If you get disconnected, the button will be pressed for you.

NOTES:

  • Your email address, password, and preferred world are stored in saved preferences. To clear your password, go to the login screen, clear or change the password, and hit "done."
  • Only the most recent ~10 saved reports are automatically parsed and given colors. The rest are still there when you click on them but won't have a color until you click on them. I'll try to get the colors back later.
  • Mails and reports are stored on your device. If enemies of your alliance have access to your phone, they can read them.
  • There are probably bugs in the report code.  Sometimes there will be no color when there should be one.  (On the other hand, if you get a report as a supporter, you will get a color showing how the whole battle went out, unlike the mail UI.)    Please report any issues.

Version 0.95: the one with reports

It's on the "full" branch.  It's been submitted and is in the process of being approved.  Paid-apps seem to get approved fasted than free-apps, which shouldn't be too surprising.  Still no regrets if you don't think this is worth paying for yet, but I think I'm getting there.

FEATURES AND HOW TO USE:

Changes from version 0.94 are in bold.
  • You choose your username, password, and world on a login screen. You launch the login screen by hitting the email address, or the "x" next to it, in the upper-right. If it's still the default that region will be red to help draw your eye.
  • (You will log into your first world automatically.

  • If you lose network connectivity while loading mail, the mails will just show network errors. Bug.

It's in the process of being approved.  Thanks to the people who have supported me so far.

FEATURES AND HOW TO USE:

  • Mails are stored on your device. If enemies of your alliance have access to your phone, they can read them.
  • You can see the previous version of your mailbox before you log in. This may cause confusion if you are switching between accounts and/or worlds.

Version 0.93: the decent one

It's at http://www.amazon.com/full-Unofficial-LordofUltima-connecting-Ultima/dp/B0082EQ3EI/.

This one costs some money. I'm not offended if you wait for the free version to update. At this point, I'm trying to keep both versions relatively equal, just giving the payment option for those willing to support.

Still not to a version 1.0 yet.

Features and How To Use:

Changes from version 0.90 are in bold.
  • You choose your username, password, and world on a login screen. You launch the login screen by hitting the email address, or the "x" next to it, in the upper-right. If it's still the default that region will be red to help draw your eye.
  • (You will log into your first world automatically. If you didn't want that world, log out and then choose the right one.)
  • After you log in, you can see your unread mail by pressing the menu button. It will show up as just the subject line. Reading the mail won't mark it as read in your account.
  • On the screen you have 1 window for chat, and 1 right beneath it for incoming attacks. Both should be scrollable.
  • Type stuff into the chat window and press "Send!" to talk. You will talk automatically and only with your alliance.
  • Press "Stop" to make sure you disconnect.

Notes:

  • Your email address, password, and preferred world are stored in saved preferences. To clear your password, go to the login screen, clear or change the password, and hit "done."
  • The UI will become unresponsive while reading mail. Sorry, this is completely a bug.
  • The mail interface is poor; for example, special characters are shown raw.
  • If you lose network connectivity while loading mail, the mails will just show network errors. Bug.

Version 0.9

Version 0.9: the one with the ugly logo

It's at http://www.amazon.com/Unofficial-Lordofultima-connecting-Lord-Ultima/dp/B00810LYOM/. It's free. And probably worth every penny. Sorry, later versions will be better. Don't hold this one against me, the version isn't even 1.0.

Features and How To Use:

  • You choose your username, password, and world on the main screen.
You may need to say "/alliance" first.
  • Press "Stop" to make sure you disconnect.

Notes:

  • The password is never saved, and only sent via HTTPS. Note that future versions will store your password.
  • The UI will become unresponsive while reading mail. Sorry, this is completely a bug.
  • The mail interface is poor; for example, special characters are shown raw.
  • If you lose network connectivity while loading mail, the mails will just show network errors. Bug.
